I just received a Hallicrafters SX-99 in the mail today. I has a few scratches on it but otherwise in (dirty) buy excellent shape. No dents or smashed places on it. It is a wonder though, the packing was extremely poor.
Plugged the new radio into my variac and brought it up nice and slow. What do you know it works!
The next plan of attack is to open it up and see what needs fixing or replacing, a new dial string is definitely in order.
